every little thing she does

one of these mornings we'll have a walk.
you know, the mornings when you have gone to sleep thinking that getting up early again is simply the worst thing, that it's slowly but surely killing you.. and then you wake up and it's all gone? that kind of a morning.
it will be warm. or raining. or maybe cold, but that morning you'll like it that way.
you'll have been working lots lately and thus forgotten what a morning walk feels like. what the outside feels like, with fresh air and no screens around.
i'll have brought the cheerful part of me. and apples. apples do miracles sometimes.
and well.. basically, that's it.
that's just what it takes to yet have a walk that you'll remember when telling your grandkids some 'back in the days' story. not that you'll ever mention the walk, of course you won't. but have you ever noticed that look a grandparent has when remembering something from 'back in the days' and not telling a thing about it? magnificent.
and maybe by then we'll have long lost any contact. maybe that very moment you'll have an urge to call just to check if the number is still right. or you won't as it most likely won't make any sense.

what matters is that one of these mornings we'll have a walk.
and you'll know. right then, bitting into the apple: this is freaking priceless.

so don't underestimate apples.
and don't overestimate the grandeur of things.
